We are renting the Gallery in August and the Annex in July & August!
Maybe you have been waiting for an opportunity to exhibit all the work you’ve been making while we have been sequestered away at home? Maybe you have some friends you would like to have a show with?
You are in luck!
We are renting the Gallery Downtown in August and the Annex in July and August, individually for $500 per month.
Participating artists are responsible for determining gallery hours and staffing accordingly. Additional responsibilities are requiring that masks are worn at all times by artists and visitors, observing social distancing by limiting the number of visitors in the gallery at any given time, and performing sanitizing procedures to keep everyone safe.
We will help you promote your show by including it on our website, in emails through Mail Chimps and postings on Facebook.
One of our goals is to help members have access to exhibition venues and we are pleased to offer this opportunity.
To sign up please email us at email@example.com. Galleries will be assigned on a first come basis so if you are interested please respond as soon as possible.
Our spectacular show is on display in the Art Alliance Gallery Downtown. While it will remain closed due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, you can view the 21 entries through the windows! We have added a virtual show — right here, online!
Square! rescheduled for fall 2020
In a time when we as artists are trying to make sense of our new and changing circumstances, the Art Alliance Board and leaders are asking for your help. Our exhibition schedule, our youth art plans, and our adult art classes have all been dramatically altered. The financial impact of these cancelations and postponements has been significant.
While we have found it necessary to postpone the July SQUARE 2020, we are asking our members and friends to continue this important fundraising opportunity by making “SQUARE art” for a future event. Our plan for a fall show of these 6″x6″ works is developing, with many creative ideas about ways to connect the SQUARES with viewers/buyers.
Many artists have told us that they have found the making of these small works helpful to their larger paintings, drawings, prints, reliefs, photos and collages. The 6”x6″ format allows experimentation and quicker investigation of ideas.
This show encourages both playful and bold works. In a fun format, we have brought together quality works at a price ($25.00) that is affordable to all. While being lighthearted, SQUARE has been important to our balance sheet.
Our three previous SQUARE shows have been greatly complemented by student art from regional schools. The abrupt school cancellations negated that contribution for 2020. This year works by our members and friends will be our primary source of art. Please consider making some SQUARE art in your favorite format and media! We will send along plans for their display and sale as plans materialize.
You may wish to consider making a series of works that can be purchased individually or as a group. Quality works will keep our event one that represents the strength of our organization. See examples included here from previous shows serves as a reminder of the quality and diversity that this event has sparked.
Help! BE SQUARE!
