An introduction to translating botanical studies and simplified landscapes into daily journaling practices.
Nature and the changing of seasons are a constant source of beauty and inspiration. Translating this beauty into small drawing studies, simplified landscape paintings, and free writing can not only allow you to develop a deeper connection with the natural world, but it can also re-frame your focus on observing the simple and elegant details that exist all around us.
This workshop will provide an introduction to botanical study sketching, simplifying landscapes to sketch or paint, utilizing different mediums within the same spread, and framing different journaling practices.
Note: one of the workshop days will take place in an outdoor space, accessible by car. Specific location will be provided closer to the date. Some background in basic drawing may be helpful, but this class is open to all levels.
You will need to bring:
The instructor will have a limited supply of gouache.
