The family of Dr. Irene Mitchel is generously hosting a silent auction of Dr. Mitchel’s art collection to benefit the Art Alliance’s educational programming.
40-50 pieces of art (drawing, paintings, prints, etc..) plus prints
Wide variety of subject matter: landscapes, portraits, still lives, etc..
Dr. Irene Mitchel (1926-2021) was a Professor Emeritus of Art at East Stroudsburg University. She earned her master’s degree at Kutztown University and her doctorate of education at Penn State University. Throughout her lifetime, Dr. Mitchel exhibited a passion for art and teaching, hosting student trips to New York City, teaching study abroad courses and guiding tours in countries such as Japan, China, Russia, Austria, France, India, Turkey, and Egypt. Her journeys and personal experiences are documented through her beautiful collection of drawings, paintings, and prints.
