Art with a Theme: Decorate a Wolf

Jana Marie Foundation is excited to continue the Art with a Theme tradition here in Centre County!

This year’s theme is the wolf.  The wolf has been a symbol of compassion, togetherness, and hope. It can remind us to trust our hearts and our minds. When lost, the wolf can help guide us to the correct path and can help us discover our true selves.

Similar to past years, Jana Marie Foundation will provide templates of a “wolf head framed by a moon” cut from corrugated plastic.  We ask that both sides be decorated in a way that uplifts others and conveys a positive message of mental wellness, hope, peace, etc.

The artwork will be displayed in a participating location in Downtown State College and beyond in May 2022. We want to ensure that we receive positive reception from the community and have a few parameters for your artwork:

  • The artwork must be free from controversy – no political, sexual, or socially offensive content please.
  • Your artwork should strive to convey a positive and recovery focused approach to mental wellness.  We want to ensure that our message is one of hope and inspiration.
  • Have fun and be creative!  Feel free to use paint, collage, fabric, or any medium of your choice.
  • Please decorate BOTH SIDES of the template
  • Please sign your piece of artwork.

The artwork will remain Jana Marie Foundation’s for future art displays.

Templates are approx. 2′ x 2′.

Pick up a template at the Art Alliance office Tuesday–Friday 10:30 am – 5:30 pm or Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Templates must be returned to the office by April 12.
