About
This show has a 2-decade history showcasing artworks of the human figure by Central Pennsylvania artists. Entry to the show is not juried. All work must have the human figure as the dominant theme; clothed figures, nudes, and portraits are all invited.

Eligible Work
Each artist may submit one piece. 2-D and 3-D works that have not received awards in previous Art Alliance shows are eligible. All works must be original.
Make sure your work is securely wired and ready to hang. Poorly framed work, unframed work, clips, brackets, partial frames, or wet work will not be accepted. Unframed stretched canvases are acceptable if they have finished sides and secure wiring. All pieces under glass or plexiglass must be framed. 3-D work may not exceed 100 lbs. The piece must be stable in its position and securely attached to its base.
The chair reserves the right to reject entries that do not meet these requirements and will have the final decision on how the work is hung.
Prizes and Judging
Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded at the Opening Reception Friday, March 11 from 7–9:00pm at the Art Alliance Center. Honorable Mention awards will be given to other notable works.
Artwork Drop Off & Pick Up
Artists are expected to deliver their work to the Art Alliance on March 6 between 4–6pm. Fill out and attach the labels to your artwork. Prior to March 6 please email a high resolution image of your artwork to [email protected] so we can include it in a virtual show on our website.
Artwork pickup is March 20 between 4–6pm. The Art Alliance does not have room to store artwork.
Please wear a mask when dropping off and picking up artwork.
Sales and Conditions
Works may be for sale. The Art Alliance charges a 20% commission of the selling price for work sold at the show. The Art Alliance is not responsible for lost or damaged artwork.
Sitting for the Show
To make our shows open to the public, participating artists “sit” with the exhibit during Gallery Hours. Please sign up for a time slot when you receive the Sign Up Genius email invite.
Juror, Sophie Brenneman
Sophie is a visual artist, poet, and educator. She earned her BFA in Drawing & Painting from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS, and her MFA from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Visual Arts at Penn State Altoona and lives in State College, PA. Central to Sophie’s visual and written work is the concept of place, both as a state of mind and as a physical experience. Using primarily charcoal and graphite, she merges psychological spaces with inhabited ones, rendering a sense of place that is as real as it is remembered.
Entry Process and Fee
Each artist may submit one piece. The Entry Form and non-refundable fee are due by Thursday, March 3, 2022. Entry Fees are: $30 for Art Alliance members, $40 for non-members, and $20 for students (high school/college).
To enter the show, you must complete both steps:
- Fill out the Entry Form and email a scanned image or .pdf copy to [email protected] and
- Pay entry fee on our registration system
Alternatively, you may fill out the Entry Form and mail it with your entry fee to: Art Alliance 818 Pike St Box 811 Lemont, PA 16851. Please make checks to “Art Alliance.”
