Stained Glass

For beginning and advanced students. Beginners will make a small project and learn the basics of copper foil and stained glass work. Advanced or repeat students will continue with previous or personal projects.

Painting Without A Brush Workshop

In this workshop we will create an abstract acrylic painting without the use of any brushes. Instead, we’ll use palette knives, scrapers, spatulas, and squeegees to create gestural, highly expressive work that favors color and texture. This easy and fun technique allows you to let loose and nurture (or find) your inner artist!

Drawing Perspective Your Way

Have you ever been puzzled by making buildings look 3D and getting all those bricks to look right? Are you okay at drawing buildings but want to give them a little more character? Come draw with us and discover some tips and tricks for getting the two dimensional surface to yield three dimensional forms. This class will not focus solely on learning the formula of perspective drawing but use it as one tool. Time will be given to work on patterns and surface texture of buildings such as bricks and stone. Any drawing medium is fine for the first class. Materials used by the teacher may include: pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, pastel or stick charcoal.

Beginning Pottery Using the Wheel

Drawing for Teens: Expanding the Use of Your Drawing Media

This class is for Teens (ages 13–18)
Are you looking for an opportunity to explore the art materials you work with? What does a calligraphy pen really do? What was it invented for? Can you use a 6B pencil for watercolor wash? When is it better to use a charcoal stick? Participants will be given a supply list that includes materials you might already have. In each two hour class, we will attempt a finished drawing but emphasize experimenting and exploration. Students in Middle grades who are serious about their art making are encouraged to sign up.

This is an Open Studio session — there is no instructor but you’ll be working alongside dedicated artists from a variety of art fields.
Ever want to try drawing the nude figure? Come enjoy the challenge of working from the model during timed poses. Figure drawing is simply one of the best ways to keep your eye and drawing skills sharp.
