Joanne describes herself as a “narrative painter, a storyteller” with figures, mostly women, are often mediations or archetypes, myth or personal experience.. She has exhibited her work throughout the Northeast, Florida, and California. Her two day workshop in acrylics will concentrate on the human figure as part of the environment. The first day students will draw the figure using gesture and contour, then the figure in various spatial designs using photographi/sources. Students will paint several rapid small paintings using a limited palette followed by critique. In the second session students will develop one large painting with critiques throughout.
