Nature and the changing of seasons are a constant source of beauty and inspiration. Translating this beauty into small sketches, simplified landscape paintings, and free writing can not only allow you to develop a deeper connection with the natural world, but it can also re-frame your focus on observing the simple and elegant details that exist all around us. This workshop will combine an introduction to simplifying landscapes to sketch or paint, using different mediums within the same journal spread, and basic writing practices.
Required materials: watercolor set (and brushes), journal (with mixed media or watercolor paper), assortment of some of your preferred pens/markers/pencil.
We will meet at different locations around State College for each workshop day. Exact location will be shared closer to the time of the workshop.
