This year’s Recycled Show, Dreamworld, will be on display April 4–29 at Kish Bank, Downtown State College.
The opening reception was Friday, April 5, from 5:30–7:30pm during the State College’s Downtown First Friday events.
Entry forms are DUE, FRIDAY, MARCH 29 by NOON. Artwork will be needs to be dropped off at KISH BANK’s Expect More Store, TUESDAY, APRIL 2, 11:30am–1pm. PICK UP is TUESDAY, APRIL 30, 11:30am–1pm at KISH BANK.
Our distinguished Juror for Awards, Carol Ann Simon Cillo, is well qualified to review the entries for prizes! In 2023 she received First Place in the 100 Miles Regional Exhibit at Penn Collegefor her mixed media piece Coat of the Empath made predominantly of recycled materials. Carol is a board member and immediate past president of the Clinton County Arts Council.
The Recycled Show is an opportunity for artists to express their love of and concern for the environment as well as the importance of creating a sustainable lifestyle through recycling programs like the one we are fortunate to have in Centre County.
We invite you to search your garage, basement, and attic and find interesting materials to create an entry for this exciting show!
All works must be made primarily from recycled or repurposed materials and adhere to the theme “Dreamworld.”
Materials found in nature (i.e. rocks, grass, etc.) may be included but may not be the majority of materials used.
Artists must include a short statement about how their works align with the show’s theme.
Collaborations are welcome.
Entry is not juried and is open to artists of all ages. Artists may submit up to two pieces.
The entry form and non-refundable fee are due by NOON, FRIDAY, MARCH 29, 2024.

Visitors may cast a virtual or in-person ballot for their favorite entry. The artist whose work receives the most votes will be awarded $100.

Make sure your work is securely wired and ready to hang. Wall hangings must be wired on back, no hooks.
3-D work may not exceed 100 lbs. The piece must be stable in its position and securely attached to its base.
Label your artwork. Use the labels on this form so we can accurately identify your work.
The chair reserves the right to reject entries that do not meet these requirements and will have the final decision on how the work is displayed.
Venue is KISH Bank Expect More Store at 114 S. Allen Street, State College, PA, and will be on display April 5–29.
Artwork may not hang from the ceiling or exceed 4’x4’ in a wall hanging. No floor pieces. 3D work must fit within a 2’x2’ pedestal surface.

Commission on sold works by non-members is 30%.
Carol Ann Simon Cillo is a fine artist, graphic designer, art educator, and photo stylist. She is currently a partner in IF – The Idea Factory, and previously worked as an art director for a national consumer products corporation. Spending an entire career embracing the arts, she now focuses on creating fine artworks in ceramics, fiber/mixed media, and acrylic painting. In 2023 she received First Place in the 100 Miles Regional Exhibit at Penn College for her mixed media piece Coat of the Empath made predominantly of recycled materials. She was named 2022 Pennsylvania Wilds Juried Artisan of the Year, has exhibited at the Pennsylvania Art of the State, and has artwork housed in permanent collections in the region. She is a graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and studied drawing and design at Carnegie Mellon University. She also serves the community as a board member and is immediate past president of the Clinton County Arts Council.
Artists are expected to deliver and pick up their work at KISH BANK’s Expect More Store, 114 S. Allen Street, in State College, on the dates and times listed below. If you have a conflict, arrange for someone to drop off or pick up on your behalf. Artworks may not be stored at the venue and they will not be transported to the Art Alliance. The Art Alliance is not responsible for lost or damaged artwork.
