Soapstone Carving
Sept 13 – October 4, 6–8pm, Mondays

Soapstone is a soft, natural stone that has been carved by people for thousands of years. In this class, students will start with a 12 pound chunk of soapstone and carve a piece of free-standing sculpture. We will utilize a variety of handtools such as chisels, rasps and sandpaper to perfect our sculpture. Join us in exploring this beautiful material. No prior experience is needed!
- Materials fee: $30 — this covers the initial 12-pound stone.
- Additional material will be available directly from Chris during the class if desired.
