Ready, Set, SQUARE! This is our 7th annual SQUARE Show—an eclectic array of 6″x6″ works of arts created by Art Alliance members and friends with widespread artistic abilities. SQUARES are donated to the Art Alliance and become available for purchase online. Sales help support year-round Art Alliance programs for adults and children.
SQUARE Show/Sales
The show and the sale are one and the same. The “show” part is a 24-hour preview of all of the SQUARES the day before (OCTOBER 19 — yesterday) they are available for purchase. All SQUARES are priced the same (JUST $25!!!) and sold on a first-come-first-serve basis, thus the importance of the preview if you fall in love with a particular SQUARE. Remember, artists names and titles are not revealed until purchase is complete.
What is truly special about this show is SQUARES are purchased because they are loved. Artist’s signatures are allowed only on the back of their artwork and are not revealed until after purchased, making it fun to figure out whose work is whose while leveling the playing field for all SQUARE creators. For this reason, anyone and everyone, regardless of perceived artistic capability or lack thereof, is encouraged to create a SQUARE or as many SQUARES as you like!

In its 7th year SQUARE has become a mainstay of our fundraising. We have progressed each year by involving additional artists and by emphasizing quality. The ideas and subjects for SQUARE works continue to be as diverse as the full scale works of our artists. This show/sale is financially important to our ongoing programs but it also has become a great advertisement for the creative energy of our members and friends.
Dates and Times:
Drop of finished SQUARES at the Art Alliance (Pike Street, Lemont) – Thursday, October 12th from 2-6 pm
Online Preview – Thursday, October 19th (all day)
Show/Sale BEGINS – Friday, October 20th at 6pm
Sale Ends – Friday, November 3rd
Pick up of purchased (and unsold works) – Sunday, November 5th at the Art Alliance, 2-5 pmRemember a successful sale requires art buyers as well as great art! Spread the word! The best advertisement for SQUARE is word of mouth. Contact your friends and relatives to bring in new buyers or remind our previous clients that the show opens at 6pm on October 20th on SHOPIFY (a link will be provided). MANY WORKS SELL ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE SHOW! PREVIEW AND BE READY TO PLACE YOUR ORDER.
