Lena Thynell is an art instructor at the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania. Watercolor painting started out as a hobby 15 years ago. After a long career as a registered nurse, nurse midwife and department head at the local hospital in Sweden, Lena became interested in watercolor painting: watercolor has now become an important part of her life. She got her education in watercolor painting at the Gerlesborg Art schooll in Sweden.
Lena has participated in several juried art shows in Sweden and has recently started to show her work in the USA.
Lena is a Signature Member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Philadelphia Watercolor Society and the Baltimore Watercolor Society. Her paintings were accepted into the Philadelphia Watercolor Society International Exhibition of Works on Paper, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society International Juried Exhibition, and the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society Annual International Exhibition, Aqueous Open.
I take risks, I try to create rather than duplicate.
In my art, I aim to express a feeling or a mood of the object more than an exact picture.
