Lelaina Scott is a State College, Pennsylvania based artist and recent graduate with a degree in Visual Arts and Music Studies from the Pennsylvania State University.

“Artists strive to create works that speak. When I paint my portraits and human inspired works, I want them to stand and speak for themselves. I do not often paint self-portraits, but I consider every painting I do a self-portrait. I take the results of my playing with materials and create pieces that speak from gallery walls or mailed postcards.

Embodiment | noun – a tangible or visible form of an idea, quality or feeling. When I was a kid, I always knew not to touch the works of art in museums but that desire to know what it felt like under my fingers was always pulling. The texture of the oil paints, the smooth brass of the sculptures; There was always so much I wanted to experience. Art speaks yes, but I also want my art to pull you in. In Embodiment: an interactive exhibition waiting to meet you I invite you to gently touch the paintings you see on display. Let them invite you in and embody what it means to experience art created from a person for people.”This is a placeholder tab content.
