“Route 45 Getaways celebrates local arts and businesses while focusing on Centre County agritourism.
The drive along Route 45 in Centre County has always been scenic and beautiful. Now, there’s even more reason to make the trip as the 2022 Route 45 Getaways is set to take place July 30 through August 7.
In its second year, the initiative serves to highlight over twenty-eight rural businesses in and around Route 45 between Pine Grove Mills, Boalsburg and Millheim through nine days of art, music, food, wine, cider and farm-related activities.
All the participating businesses will be hosting art, music or special workshops at their locations throughout the week and will be offering giveaways to visitors.” (excerpt from July 19 Rt 45 Getaways press release)
The Art Alliance is again partnering with Mt. Nittany Vineyard and Winery to host a plein air painting event Saturday, July 30 from 10:00am– 3:00pm. Several Art Alliance artists, including:

- Jeff Mathison,
- Linda Borch,
- Charlene Gross,
- Jeanne McKinney,
- Lena Thynell,
- Michele Rivera,
- Jennifer Kane, and
- Randi Anderson
will be on site at Mt. Nittany Winery showing how they create art outside of a traditional studio. Come on out! A scenic drive + art in progress + wine = a delightful way to spend the day!
