“Trash in the Outer Limits” by Ruth Knowles

“There is an estimated 500,000 pounds of trash on the moon.  It was left there by the United States, Japan, Russia, India, and Europe.  There are a lot of heavy junk like rangers and probes, but there are also smaller items like golf balls and bags of human waste. I am sad to admit that wherever we go, we leave trash.  NASA is encouraging innovators to develop solutions for recycling the waste on the Moon.”
