2023 Summer Camps

Below are our 2023 summer camps. Registration will open 8:00 am Saturday, February 11. Links to register will be available from the camp descriptions on the Youth Programs summer camp calendar.

Mommy and Me with Julia Nelson

June 6–8  | 9–11:00 am | Ages 3–5 | $70

This art class is designed for our youngest artists and their caregivers. We will explore the media and art tools in our studio and learn how to extend the experience at home. We will cover tips for creating a maker space and understanding the development of the creative process in young children. If you’d like to introduce your child to our studio or to the art camp experience this will be a wonderful opportunity to do that. Caution: participants will encounter clay, paint, and smiles!

Let Your Imagination Go Wild with Donna Lawrence

June 12–16 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | Ages 5–8 | $155

We will explore the lands of the Safari where the trees grow tall, the lions roam, and the sun shines big. Let your creative imagination go wild and we will bring the Safari to life using a variety of materials from the Kid’s Studio.

Wizarding with Julia Nelson

June 12–16 | 1–4:30 pm | Ages 7–11 | $180

Do you wish that everyday was a day to practice perfecting potions and working spells with wands? Whether you know a lot or a little doesn’t matter when it comes to sorting you into a house with a magic hat! Get ready to use clay, fibers, metals, and storytelling to bring creatures to life. In this arts-based camp there will be plenty of fun for fans of wizarding. Craft your own wand, design your own story and illustrations for the school newspaper, and possibly delve into a little transfiguration (with clay). Plenty of games to play and Horcruxes to find. All we need is you!

Art Medley with Nicole Packard

June 19–23 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | Ages 5–8 | $155

For kids who enjoy all types of art! We will make comic strips, clay sculptures, origami, op art, expandable drawings, and other interactive art.

Mixed Media Animals Camp with Liza Johnson

June 19–23 | 1–4:30 pm | Ages 7–11 | $180

Do you love using all different types of art materials? Do you also love all kinds of animals? Join us for a week of mixing it up with art materials to create fun animal masterpieces.

Fantasy Art with Nicole Packard

June 26–30 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | Ages 5–8 | $155

Join us for a week of creative art making centered around imaginative stories. Whether you pull ideas from your favorite book or develop your own, this is the class for you! From drawing to painting to graphic novels we will explore fantastical art in many different mediums.

Oceans with Beverly  Crow

June 26–30 | 1–4:30pm | Ages 7–11 | $180

Taking inspiration from books, photos, and National Geo Kids Magazine, we will explore the ocean together! Our creations will include paper mache fish, 3D jellyfish, and ocean scenes with unique, colorful, and fun undersea life.

Paper, Plastic, Tin Cans, Oh My! with Donna Lawrence

July 3–7 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | Ages 5–8 | $155

Recycled Art, it’s back again! Turn everyday items we recycle into art.

Art in Math & Nature with Lisa Turner

July 3–7 | 1–4:30 pm | Ages 7–11 | $180

Explore and make art using tessellations, number patterns like the golden rectangle and Fibonacci, fractals, tanagrams and MORE! Multi-media with drawing, collage and painting.

Comics & Cartooning with Adam Schwartz

July 17–21 | 9:00 am – 3:00 pm | Ages 7–11 | $295

From your imagination to the page and beyond! Create your own realistic or make-believe characters and bring them to life this week. Set the scene and tell their story through sequential drawing, animation, puppetry and theatre games.

Animal Friends in Children’s Literature with Carrie Koch

July 24–28 | Ages 5–8 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | $155

A week-long adventure exploring animal buddies in picture books. Friends include favorite pairs such as Elephant and Piggy, Frog and Toad, George and Martha; and groups like Poppleton and friends and the barnyard of Click Clack Moo. Each day will bring a new friendship through art and activities inspired by the world of the books!

Famous Artists with Liza Johnson

July 24–28 | 1–4:30 pm | Ages 7–11 | $180

Love learning about the lives of Famous Artists? Each day of camp will focus on a different artist, and we will use their work as inspiration for our own masterpieces created with various techniques and media.

Creative Days With Paper Mache with Donna Lawrence

July 31– Aug. 4 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | Ages 5–8 | $155

Roll up your sleeves and get ready to make Paper Mache art! Together we will learn how to make paper mache and turn this simple recipe of paper, flour, and water into beautiful colorful bowls, fun little creatures, and so much more!

Clay: Earth Treasures with Holly Foy

August 7–11 | 9:00–12:00 pm | Ages 7–10 | $210

Like getting your hands muddy? Spend the week exploring a variety of hand-building techniques to fashion animal-shaped banks, ocean inspired coiled bowls, and more. We will make Treasures of Earth in this fun, creative camp.

Clay: Earth Treasures with Holly Foy

August 7–11 | 1–4:00 pm | Ages 11–13 | $210

Like getting your hands muddy? Spend the week exploring a variety of hand-building techniques to fashion animal-shaped banks, ocean inspired coiled bowls, and more. We will make Treasures of Earth in this fun, creative camp.
