We have a great line up of half- and full-days camps for ages pre-K to teen. Registration will open at 8:00am Saturday, February 12 when the State College Area School District Summer Camp (virtual) Youth Fair is available.

Mini Camp: Mommy (or Pop-Pop/Grammy/Auntie) and Me (Ages 3–6)

June 7–9 | 9–11:00am

This art class is designed for our youngest artists and their caregivers. We will explore the media and art tools in our studio and learn how to extend the experience at home. We will cover tips for creating a maker space and understanding the development of the creative process in young children. If you’d like to introduce your child to our studio or to the art camp experience this will be a wonderful opportunity to do that. Caution: participants will encounter clay, paint, and smiles!

Recycled Recreate Art (Ages 5–8)

June 13–17 | 9–12:00pm

Create art using recycled items! From bottle caps to magazines kids will learn how to reuse or upcycle things they might normally dispose of to create art.

Star Wars (Ages 7–11)

June 13–17  | 1–4:30 pm

A short time ago…in an art studio nearby…there existed a group of space lovers and would-be astronauts who loved Space Fantasy. Let’s create fantastic sculptures of rockets and light sabers, design costumes and accessories for living in outer space. If you attended this camp last year we invite you to come again because we will be making new discoveries in space travel!

Art Medley (Ages 5–8)

June 20–24 | 9–12:00pm

Do you enjoy all types of art? Then this class is perfect for you. We will be making everything from realistic drawings to sculptures to cartoons.

Say Yes to the Mess (Ages 7–11)

June 20–24 | 1–4:30pm

Use all the best and most fun types of “messy” art materials to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Join us for a week of exploration and stretching your imagination while having lots of fun!

Making Mosaic Art (Ages 5–8)

June 27–July 1 | 9–12:00pm

Mosaics are beautiful pictures made from colorful tiles of different shapes and sizes. It’s a great way to explore colors and shapes and kids will learn to create geometric patterns or images with a variety of materials.

American Indian (Ages 7–11)

June 27–July 1 | 1–4:30pm

Stepping off from exhibits found at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, this camp will explore traditional art, contemporary native art, and games from a sampling of the tribes of the Americas.

Crazy Color Camp (Ages 5–8)

July 5–8 (4 days) | 9–12:00pm

In this camp, campers will learn how to manipulate color, use color schemes, and how color can affect our moods.  Campers will learn how to use a variety of materials, techniques, and genres including doodle art, collage, and color pencil and marker technique. Come join us for a color-FULL week of camp!

Art in Math and Nature (Ages 7–11)

July 5–8 (4 days) | 1–4:30pm

Explore and make art using tessellations, number patterns like the golden rectangle and Fibonacci, fractals, tanagrams and MORE! Multi-media with drawing, collage and painting.

Fantasy Art (Ages 5–8)

July 18–22 | 9–12:00pm

Join us for a week of creative art making centered around imaginative stories. Whether you pull ideas from your favorite book or develop your own, this is the class for you. From drawing to painting to graphic novels we will explore fantastical art in many different mediums.

Printmaking (Ages 7–11)

July 18–22  | 1–4:30pm

Styrofoam prints, stamp making, gelli printing, collagraphs, and any other fun ways we can imagine and experiment with to create prints. Join us for a week of printmaking fun!

Comics and Cartooning (Ages 7–11)

July 25–29 | 9:00am–3:00pm

From your imagination to the page and beyond! Create your own realistic or make-believe characters and bring them to life this week. Set the scene and tell their story through sequential drawing, animation, puppetry and theatre games.

Creative Art with Unusual Materials (Ages 5–8)

August  1–5 | 9–12:00pm

Bring your creativity! Join us for a week of painting, drawing, and sculpting as we make art with a range of materials including recycled and reimagined.

Caldecott Winners Literature & Illustrations (Ages 7–11)

August 1–5 | 1–4:30pm

Caldecott Winners: current titles and old favorites. This literature-based camp will include activities and art based on the amazing stories told with the best illustrations.

Clay: Earth Treasures (ages 7–13)

August 8–12 | 8:30am–12:00pm

Like getting your hands muddy? Spend the week exploring a variety of hand-building techniques to fashion animal-shaped banks, ocean inspired coiled bowls, and more. We will make Treasures of Earth in this fun, creative camp.

Clay: Earth Treasures (ages 7–13)

August 8–12 | 1–4:30pm
