Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania, 818 Pike Street, Lemont PA

Workshop Overview:

This five-hour workshop invites intermediate and advanced artists to bring small collected objects or found items and incorporate them into their mixed media compositions. Participants will explore techniques for integrating these personal artifacts into layered, textural artwork, enhancing the narrative and personal connection within each piece.

A selection of  wire, wool, wood, found metal objects, paper, screen, clay, and repurposed materials will be provided.  We invite participants to bring personal artifacts, collected treasures, or incomplete work to pair with the materials above.

This workshop is designed for intermediate and advanced artists who are interested in adding personal or found objects to their mixed media compositions. Participants should come prepared to experiment and expand their practice through the creative use of diverse materials.

Workshop Objectives:

- Guide artists in incorporating personal or found objects into mixed media compositions.

- Teach advanced techniques for balancing texture, shape, and dimension using both conventional and unconventional materials.

- Encourage artistic exploration through the use of personal artifacts to create meaningful, layered artwork.

- Provide a space for individual expression and the exchange of ideas among participants.
